CONSULATE GENERAL OF PAKISTAN TORONTO PRESS RELEASE In response to a number of requests received from Pakistani community living in London, Ontario, a Consular Team of the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto, headed by Vice Consul, Mr. Asim Ali Khan shall visit London, Ontario to provide following Consular Services to the Pakistani community living in and around London, Ontario region: 1. Renewal of Manual Passports. 2. Child Birth Registration. 3. Amendments/Extension of Manual Passports. 4. Issuance of Visas. 5. Attestation of documents, including Pakistani driving licence, Power of Attorneys, etc. 6. NICOP. 7. Transfer of Residence Certificates. 8. Birth Certificates/Life Certificates. 9. Emergency Travel Documents. 10. Police Clearance Certificates. The Consular Camp shall be set up on Sunday, August 08th, 2010 in London, Ontario. The location of the camp shall be announced later. Applicants may visit the camp office from 0930-1330 hrs and from 1500-1700 hrs. For information regarding consular services and downloading forms the website of the Consulate General www.pakmission.ca may be visited (follow the link of Consular Services). Applicants are requested to bring completely filled-up applications along with the required documents to the Camp Office for processing. The fees for different services may be paid at the Camp Office in the form of bank drafts or money orders prepared in the favor of ‘Consulate General of Pakistan’. The Ministry of Labour and Manpower of Government of Pakistan has launched a program entitled “Pakistan’s Program for Care of Highly Qualified Overseas Pakistanis (PPQP)”. The program is aimed at developing a data base of highly qualified Pakistanis abroad and to evolve a system to avail their expertise and advice through online network interface and for this purpose interactive website: www.ppqp.gov.pk has also been developed.
The National Talent Pool at the Ministry of labour and Manpower would arrange short and long-term courses under this program in which expatriate Pakistan experts can make contributions to various institutions in Pakistan.

The Government has launched a Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI) to boost and facilitate flow of remittances by non-resident Pakistanis. Under this initiative a number of steps have been taken to facilitate swift flow of funds by expatriate community to Pakistan. Some details of PRI are given as follows:
· A comprehensive website: www.pri.gov.pk
· List of banks to route their remittances through banking channels, a locator has been placed on the website. These banks are currently located in Toronto only.
· A Call Centre has also been established which works 24/7. The community members and their families could register their complaints with the Call Centre at number 1877-707-7714.
· All funds will be transferred free of charges through MCB, ABL, UBL, HBL and NBP.

PRESS RELEASE
The Government of Pakistan is seeking to ascertain the interest of overseas Pakistanis for voting for the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies of Pakistan, from abroad. An exercise is being conducted by the Government of Pakistan through its Embassies and Consulates for eliciting the required information of eligible voters.
2. A questionnaire is being circulated by the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto for the desirous Pakistani voters residing in the Province of Ontario, who are interested in registering themselves as eligible voters.
3. For details regarding the eligibility of voters and other questions the Election Commission of Pakistan’s website http://www.ecp.gov.pk/content/faqs.html may be visited. The completely filled up questionnaires may be sent to the Consulate General by fax, e-mail or mail at the following address:

PRESS RELEASE
NADRA has revived its setup in the Consulate General of Pakistan, Toronto. Consequently, the form-based applications for National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) are being received by the Consulate General. Applications for NICOP can be down-loaded from NADRA’s website www.nadra.gov.pk or website of Consulate General www.pakmission.ca and completely filled up application form alongwith the required documents may be submitted at the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto during 0915-1215hrs from Monday to Friday.
The applications will be forwarded to NADRA HQrs Islamabad for issuance of NICOP. NADRA will mail NICOP directly at the mailing addresses of the applicants. For further queries, Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto may be contacted through e-mail at pareptoronto@rogers.com.
