                   The Consulate General of Pakistan will be holding the official flag-hoisting ceremony to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day on Sunday, August 14th, 2011.

 

                   We are pleased to announce that this year, again, the ceremony will be held at the lawns of the Ontario Legislative Building, southwest corner of Queen’s Park at 10:30 a.m. 

 

                   The Consul General cordially invites all Pakistani nationals and Canadians of Pakistani origin to this event.

  	We would like to inform you that the bilateral consultations between Pakistan and Canada, scheduled for

later this month, has been postponed. Therefore, the visit of the Foreign Minister of Pakistan to Toronto & Ottawa

will not take place.

	In view of the above, the Community Function planned on 26 February, in Toronto, has been cancelled.  According to

'Canada-Pakistan Friendship Association (CPFA)', a total of 520 seats had already been reserved. Any inconvenience

caused, is regretted.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has conveyed that PIA will no longer be accepting relief cargo for flood affecters in Pakistan from 19th November, 2010.


PIA will dispatch all existing cargo in their jam-packed warehouse during the months of November & December 2010.

 
In view of the above, the Consulate General of Pakistan requests that relief goods for flood affecters in Pakistan may not be collected in kind. However,
you are welcome to send cheques/cash through Habib Canadian Bank (Tel: 416-754-9393 and 905-276-5300).

FACILITY OF ABM/ATM MACHINE

 
To further facilitate the applicants the facility of an ABM/ATM has been made available within the premises of the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto. Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund 2010

This year the monsoon season in Pakistan has caused unprecedented floods and devastation. The emerging details indicate that so far, over 1200 individuals have lost their lives and over 500,000 homes have been destroyed and, physical and communication infrastructure sustained serious damage in many parts of the country. The Prime Minister has appealed for help to address this calamity. A special account titled, “Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund 2010”.has been established with the Bank of Montreal to receive cash donations for the relief of affectees. Pakistan Consulate Approves Consular Facilitation Centers in Scarborough and Mississauga
 
 
            The Pakistan Consulate in Toronto has appointed the following companies to provide consular facilitation services to Canadian citizens of Pakistani origin, in Greater Toronto Area.
 
 
            Following companies have been authorized:
 
1.                  "LINKONE", located at 695 Markham Road, Suite 32, Scarborough, Ontario (Tel: 416-792-0666, website: www.linkone.ca


 
2.                   "RAI Group of Consultants", located at 55 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, Ontario (Tel: 905-803-9188)

This service has been initiated, on popular public demand, to offer faster and convenient services, in view of the increase of Pakistani community in GTA, and to reduce the heavy rush at the Consulate.
 
            These facilitation companies will not only provide extended working hours, but would also assist in completion of forms / documentation (e.g. forms for manual passports, visas, attestations, NICOP etc). The company representative will undertake the documentation submission / delivery at the Pakistani Consulate, on behalf of the applicants, on a daily basis.

Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto is pleased to announce that the "Document Collection Time" for the public has been extended. All documents (passports, attestations, visas, etc) can now be collected from the Consulate General on their due dates, from 0915 to 1215 hrs and  from 1400 to 1600 hrs (Monday-Friday). However, "Document Submission Time" would remain the same (From 0915 to 1215 hrs) Monday-Friday.

This is another step towards serving our community better.

NADRA has revived its setup in the Consulate General of Pakistan, Toronto. Consequently, the form-based applications for National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) are being received by the Consulate General. Applications for NICOP can be down-loaded from NADRA’s website www.nadra.gov.pk or website of Consulate General www.pakmission.ca and completely filled up application form alongwith the required documents may be submitted at the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto during 0915-1215hrs from Monday to Friday.

 

The applications will be forwarded to NADRA HQrs Islamabad for issuance of NICOP. NADRA will mail NICOP directly at the mailing addresses of the applicants. For further queries, Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto may be contacted through e-mail at pareptoronto@rogers.com.
